There are certain factors that can help you win some money in poker. One of them is good games, which are much harder to find online nowadays compared to the times of the poker boom.
What makes a good game then? In general, there are two types of good games:
Passive & Loose Games
This combination of passivity with a high amount of hands played to the showdown makes a juicy game. You can bet for thin value, isolate pre-flop limpers, and get away from a seemingly strong hand when a passive player suddenly wakes up and starts to show aggression.
Aggressive (Bluffy) & Loose Games
Aggressive & loose games play way different than their passive counterparts. In this game, you need to start making some calldowns as you will be right more often than not. Swings are generally higher than in passive games, but you can build up some huge stacks when the cards turn your way!
What Are the Games Like on CoinPoker

Let’s break down a few of these hands!
Hand analysis number 1: A♦️Q♦️
We raise from Cutoff, which is extremely standard. We are opening about 35% of our range here and face a 3bet from the Button – here AQs plays a pure call. We are 4-bet bluffing AJo AQo and then some suited aces from A4s to A8s at high frequency, 4-betting about 16% frequency of these combos and calling about 23% frequency.
Flop: 8♣️ 4♣️ 3♦️
Not the best flop for our hand but not the worst either – we have a backdoor flush and straight draw with two overcards and Ace-High for showdown value. It’s totally reasonable to expect that we still have the best hand a lot. We check and opponent cbets 1/3 pot. Our hand never raises here so we call. We don’t have many raises here, mostly a hand like A8s that is raising for value and denying equity from overcards, small sets which are 33 or 44, plus are our main value combos 99 and JJ are mixed in for the same reasons as A8s. Of our bluffs only combodraws like A♣️5♣️, 6♣️5♣️, and 7♣️6♣️ without backdoor have about 20-23% frequency checkraise.
Turn brings the 5♦️
We check and see a 150% overbet, which is not solver approved sizing – especially considering opponents holding but regardless action on us and now our exact hand can continue by calling or jamming at 25% frequency. We decide to shove and opponent calls showing K♦️7♦️ which is the best hand for us to see!
River brings the 6♦️ and we take it down – thanks for playing! ♥️
Hand analysis number 2: A♦️J♠️
We open from the Cutoff once again with A♦️J♠️ – which is of course standard – and face a 3bet from the Button. Now AJo does not play well postflop due to the fact that our opponent can be dominating us. However, it has good properties to 4-bet bluff blocking several premium hands AA; AK; JJ and AQs. So we 4-bet and our opponent calls – the pot is getting big already!
Flop comes A♣️K♣️7♣️
On this monotone but broadway texture we have Top Pair with a decent kicker and will use a mix of check and very small bet. On this occasion we bet 10% which is 4bb aand opp raises us to 21bb. Now its quite hard to find raises in our opponents range that are raising against a 4-bettor, should be sets and QQ with flush card so those value combinations are just a few. We continue by calling.
Turn is the 8♦️
Turn that changes nothing, we check and our opponent checks back.
River brings the 5♠️
Pretty blanc river. We check once again as there is really no point to bet our hand. Our opponent jams, representing a trap after checking back the turn. We call and see 9♥️9♦️ which is a combo without a club – and not solver approved. Games are good!
Hand analysis number 3: J♠️J♦️
We raise pocket J♠️J♦️ from Under the Gun and Hijack who is a shortstack at 70bb decides to flat. This action is a bit strange, but given the stack size we can already presume they are a recreational player.
Flop: T♠️4♣️2♦️
A very safe flop for our hand: No overcards and our opponent can have a variety of pocket pairs that we can get value from. We check and our opponent immediately bets full pot! Unfortunately, against a potsized bet we cannot checkraise our hand although we would like to deny equity from overcards (Ace, King, and Queen). We just call.
Turn: 8♥️
The turn completes a full rainbow and once again, quite a safe card for us since no natural 2-pairs arrived other than T8 but how likely is it for opponent to have it? Quite unlikely, we can assume. We check and opponent bets almost full pot again!
Same logic as before, we cannot raise vs this sizing so we continue by calling.
River: 3♣️
We are not donking here so we check for the third time. And what does our opponent do? They jam in all-in for pot! We have an easy call considering he can just have top pair here for value, and maybe some random hands that we have beat. Opponent shows K♥️5♥️ for a total airball bluff. We scoop the pot!
